Jacqueline Hyde is a story-driven project built on contradiction, nuance, and paradox. At its core, the music explores themes of duality and human nature.
Life in the last three years is a direct reflection on the music, lyrics, and stories. She moved to Sweden to work on a farm at the end of 2023, came back to the States, and quickly fell in love with a co-worker; they spent two beautifully chaotic years together, then had a tumultuous breakup that left her questioning love and how traumatic pasts rear their ugly heads in current relationships. 2026 was about finding herself again while being single for the first time in 12 years.
Jacquie started the project under the pseudonym in 2022 during a time of transformation and self-discovery. After releasing a debut EP, leaving the evangelical church, and finalizing a divorce in 2023, she began exploring more themes of heartache, grief, attachment wounds, and losing religion.
The upcoming 2027 release doubles down on the exploration of duality, featuring four new songs recorded in two different locations, presented in two distinct versions.
Side A offers a stripped-down, acoustic folk expression while Side B takes the same stories in a louder, grittier direction, reimagining them through the energy and weight of rock.
The band has been experimenting with bringing this duality to the stage as well, giving audiences the opportunity to experience these songs from two different perspectives and lean into the tension between them in the live show.
